Finding peace within triggering moments through sisterhood is a rare experience for me. I seldom engage in intense and passionate discussions with sisters who hold their deep truths. I discover triggers in her truth that initially make me feel wrong. However, I quickly realize, once again, that her truth is hers, and my truth is mine. Navigating through these conversations, I embrace passion and opinions, which, surprisingly, fosters a sense of safety within my own belief system, always leading back to love.
Typically, I surround myself with open-minded individuals, leaving little room for in-depth exploration of what I truly believe in my heart. Yet, in a room with someone similar to me, usually the intense and forward one, I feel her hands in parts of me I don’t usually sense. Her words evoke feelings and thoughts, and I appreciate her ability to delve deep rapidly while effortlessly returning to a place of love.
Her mind is a beautiful space, and any judgments I may express, repress and suppress prompt a swift return to my inner world, helping me discern my strengths from areas of tenderness. Defensiveness proves ineffective here, serving only as a scapegoat for avoiding what I truly need to see. Amidst all triggers, regardless of gender, lies a wealth of growth medicine — a pathway to deeper understanding of people. Weaving diverse opinions into a tapestry of peace, we honor each other, recognizing the unique and multifaceted nature within ourselves when we bravely explore these depths.
